美國空軍在華空軍作戰司令部的藝術家在一架美國飛機機身上畫完徽標的最後一筆。這支空軍隊伍由陳納德將軍領導。現在陳納德將軍負責指揮在華美國空軍，他曾經是美國空軍援華志願隊即“飛虎隊”的指揮官，這支隊伍在美國正式對日宣戰之前便來到中國。這個新的徽標裏，戴著山姆大叔帽子的老虎象征“飛虎隊”，如今正式代表美國空軍；老虎正撕碎日本旗；青天白日表示它的使命在中國。

New Insignia for U.S.Army Planes in China

An artist of the China Air Task Force Fighter Command of the United States Army Air Force puts the finishing touches on the insignia of aU.S.Plane.These men and planes fly under the command of Brigadier General Claire L.Chennault,who is in charge of the American air force now in China and formerly commander of the American Volunteer Group,called the"Flying Tigers"which flew in China before the United States entered the war against Japan.In the new insignia,the tiger,wearing Uncle Sam's hat to represent the"Flying Tigers"now flying with the U.S.Army Air Forces,is shown tearing the Japanese flag to shreds.The Chinese sun indicates themission in China.
