由於一輛美國陸軍的卡車車軸深陷在爛泥裏，工人們清理了滇緬公路的一側為它開道。今年的特大暴雨阻礙了修路工作的進程，但是修路工程並沒有停止。中美軍隊不斷推進整個修築工作，連接列多和滇緬公路，從而建設一條通向被封鎖的中國的道路。
